Plastic Packaging Tax (PPT) Update

From the beginning of April 2022, the Government implemented a Plastic Packaging Tax (PPT). At Bonus took the decision not to pass this on in the month of April on all stock lines. However, from the 1st of May we need to include this new Government Tax in prices of many plastic products.

What to expect from May onwards

From May 1st 2022, any plastic packaging containing 30% or more recycled material will NOT have any PPT applied. All plastic products with less than 30% recycled material will be subject to PPT. All products affected will have the tax applied and charged at £200 per tonne, as set by the Government.
All PPT liabilities are recorded, declared and paid by Bonus Trading UK Ltd to HMRC.
